A server run by students, for students.

BerkCraft is a whitelisted survival server for the Berkeley community. Everyone on it has a verified Berkeley email, so you're playing with classmates, not random strangers.

Every player signs up with an @berkeley.edu email. One Minecraft account per student.

Java + Bedrock

PC, Mac, console or phone. Both editions join the same world.

How to connect

Get whitelisted, then hop on.

You need to sign up below first. The server only lets in whitelisted accounts, and you'll be added shortly after signing up.

Java PC · Mac · Linux

  1. Open Minecraft: Java Edition and go to Multiplayer.
  2. Click Add Server.
  3. Server address: play.berkcraft.com
  4. Save, then join.

Bedrock Console · Mobile · Windows

  1. Open Minecraft and go to Play → Servers.
  2. Scroll down and tap Add Server.
  3. Address: play.berkcraft.com · Port: 19132
  4. Save, then join.

Rules

What gets you banned.

Griefing and stealing are fair game — this isn't that kind of server. Everything below, we do enforce.

  1. Be respectful.Basic decency, in chat and in game. Don't harass or insult people, and don't go after anyone for who they are. Slurs and hate speech get you removed.
  2. No cheats, hacks or unfair mods.Not sure whether your mod counts? Then it probably does — ask first. Full list below.
  3. No lag machines.Redstone is welcome, big builds included. Just nothing that causes lag spikes or tanks server performance.
  4. One account per student.Don't share your whitelist spot or play on someone else's.
  5. Don't dox anyone.Personal details about players or staff stay off the server, real names included.
  6. Don't impersonate or work the staff.Don't pass yourself off as staff, government or the owner, and don't angle for rollbacks, free items or special treatment.
  7. Listen to the admins.If something comes up, ask in the Discord.

Hacks, cheats and unfair mods

Anything that gives you information or actions the game doesn't. If you're unsure about a mod, ask in the Discord before you use it.

Not allowed

  • Hacked clients of any kind — Meteor, Wurst and the rest
  • Xaero's Minimap, because of its entity tracking
  • Chunk claim finders and player radar
  • Mods that show other players' health
  • X-ray, or anything that shows ores through stone
  • Item duplication, however you came across it
  • Working off the world seed to locate anything
  • Macros or automation that play for you: moving, mining, clicking

Allowed

  • Fullbright
  • Freelook
  • Replay Mod — but not freecam
  • Waypoints

What happens if you break them

  • Small stuff gets a warning the first time.
  • Keep at it, or do something serious, and you're looking at a mute or a ban.
  • Permanent, no warning: hacking, doxxing, hate speech and harassment.
